Specialists in Key Stage 2

Focused entirely on Years 3 to 6

Most tutoring companies teach every age from four to eighteen. We teach only Years 3 to 6. That focus shapes everything we do: every lesson, resource and assessment is designed for children aged seven to eleven, and every exam we prepare for sits within these four years.

Deep curriculum knowledge

We know the Key Stage 2 curriculum in detail, so we can see exactly where a child is and what comes next.

Exam expertise in one place

The 11+, independent school entrance exams and the SATs all fall in Years 3 to 6. Preparing for them is our core work, not a sideline.

Teaching built for this age

Seven- to eleven-year-olds learn best with short, lively tasks, lots of talk and clear feedback. Our lessons are designed around that.

Why small groups

Small groups get better results for most children

We cap every group at five pupils. That's small enough for real individual attention, and large enough for children to learn from each other.

Children learn from each other

Hearing how another child reasoned through a problem shows your child new ways to think, which one-to-one lessons can't offer.

Explaining builds understanding

In a group, children explain their answers out loud. Putting thinking into words is one of the surest ways to make learning stick.

Real exam conditions

Working at pace alongside others feels like the exam room, so test day holds fewer surprises.

Motivation and friendly challenge

Children work harder and enjoy lessons more when they learn alongside others aiming for the same goal.

Still individual attention

With five pupils at most, the tutor knows every child's strengths and gaps and every child takes part.

Half the cost per lesson

A group lesson costs about half as much as one-to-one, so your child can have more lessons for the same budget.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is there a trial lesson?

Yes. You can book a single group lesson or a single one-to-one lesson with no commitment. If you continue, choose a monthly plan or lesson pack afterwards.

How do you decide which group my child joins?

Groups are organised by school year. Before your child starts, a short readiness check helps us place them and tells the tutor what each child is working towards, whether that's the 11+, an entrance exam or the SATs.

What if my child is ahead of, or behind, the rest of the group?

Every group has five pupils at most, so tasks can be adjusted for each child. If we think a different group or one-to-one lessons would suit your child better, we'll tell you.

What happens if we miss a lesson?

For group lessons, we send the lesson materials and home task so your child can catch up. One-to-one lessons can be moved with 24 hours' notice.

How much homework is there?

Usually 20 to 30 minutes a week. It's marked and returned with feedback before the next lesson.
